Stain fighting power- What use is a tub cleaner unless it can clear away even the toughest stains with ease? When sizing up the competition, we had to ask how well each option worked on the most common bathtub stains. Does it work on soap scum, hard water build up, rust, mold, and grime?
Scent- A cleaners smell could make a big difference in cleaning experience. No one likes scrubbing a tub, but to have to pull out the gas mask for every cleaning would make it even less pleasant. We compared aromas and tried to see if the cleaners were able to be used in close quarters without bringing tears to the eyes.
Ease of use- This category is really a no brainer. Of course, no one wants to spend hours scrubbing after a cleaner is applied, so we tested how easy they were to apply and wipe or rinse away. We also tested how many applications it took to clean a stain and how long it needed to work.
Versatility- Sure, the cleaners were tested on how well they cleaned tubs, but we also checked for how effective they were at cleaning other surface areas in the bathroom as well.
Toxicity- A key issue for most households with children and pets, we tested how toxic each brand was and if it was safe for use. Also, we took a look at their disposal safety and if they irritated the skin and eyes.
