Many come with fantastic features such as massaging jets to make showers even more comfortable. However, it’s sometimes difficult to find the right design as the market is flooded with options.
We used our testing experience to take an in-depth look at a range of handheld showerheads to find the best.
These defining categories helped us determine which shower heads deserved our stamp of approval.
Functionality – It was important to choose products that would be functional, as you shower every day.
Ease of Use – How easy it was to install and use, as well to keep clean on a regular basis.
Design – What the models have to offer, such as different size, sprays, and features.

Most notable upside: When we tested the AquaDance, the first notable feature was the 6 settings which make it easy to choose the option most accommodating to your spray preference. There are many different settings, including a pause feature that is great when you need to conserve water. We had no problem switching settings, with the click-lever dial as well. The AquaDance is easy to keep clean as it’s made from chrome with rubber heads. We did find that using the Aqua together with the main shower head may reduce water pressure which was a bit annoying.
Biggest downsides: We came across a few issues with the water control and pressure, as the water only trickled out at times and doesn’t always have contact with the user. The protective coating on the buttons also starts to crack over time.
Delta Faucet’s handheld showerhead features 7 spray settings, so you can easily change things up when soaping up! Massaging jets relieve aching muscles, and full body spray gives an all-over clean.
Most notable upside: We found Delta Faucet’s handheld showerhead to be extra relaxing with seven spray settings, including a range of functions like a massaging spray. It was perfect for aching muscles, while the full body spray can reach the entire body. The head itself is on the smaller side, but that doesn’t interfere with the features. We loved that the Delta head was particularly powerful and perfect if you love the intensity in showers. However, the hose that comes with the 7-Spray handheld can be a little stiff and inflexible.
Biggest downsides: Cleaning the item is not simple or easy because the bottom of the toilet seat is open, with support structures that get dirty easily and angles that are challenging to clean.
Offering multiple functions, YOO.MEE’s handheld showerhead gives you plenty of power in your shower with a pressure boosting design so you can kick back and relax while it works its magic.
Most notable upside: We were particularly impressed that YOO.MEE’s handheld was capable of boosting water pressure even in showers that didn’t typically offer the best water pressure during our tests. Over time, the rubber jet nozzles prevent mineral build-up, and we found that we didn’t have to go out of our way to keep this shower head clean. One issue we did have was that it only offers three shower settings, though the high-pressure design will make up for that.
Biggest downsides: The power of the dryer setting is lacking, which requires extra time to get dry. The seat is also constructed from light mold plastic and doesn’t hold up well with excess weight applied. If the remote is missing, the seat cannot operate.
