Power: All the Miele vacuum cleaners we tested out use 1200W Miele-Made Vortex motor which meant they all had strong suction power but they were coupled with different kinds of floorheads. We tested to see which motor and floor head combo was the best and which one picked up the most dirt and dust.

Ease of Use: We love a good vacuum that’s not only strong but easy to use as well which is why we looked into compact vacuums. We were looking for something that we could easily use as an all-around vacuuming tool and we also wanted something that we can easily take with us into any room. Aside from that, we also checked for controls to see which one was the most user-friendly.

Noise level: Vacuuming isn’t a difficult job per se but finding the time to do it can be a real challenge. Most vacuums, whether compact, upright, or handheld, are often noisy. However, it’s important to note that noise is not always equal to power and that a silent vacuum can perform just as well.

Another thing that we loved about this Miele Compact C1 Turbo Team Canister Vacuum Cleaner is how light it is. It’s light enough to carry everywhere but still has a substantial-enough weight that keeps it from feeling flimsy.

Most notable upside: We’re stunned at how extremely versatile this model is compared to the other Miele vacuums. It cleans well on any surface, any type of floor, and picks up what other vacuums often leave behind.

This is the kind of vacuum that we wouldn’t mind pulling out for quick touch-ups and a bit of spot cleaning at home since it’s not a hassle to take out and put away. It’s sturdy and well-made so even though it’s not as expensive as other models, it will last you a long time. Just like any other Miele vacuum cleaner, the Pure Suction Canister Vacuum also uses the AirClean Sealed System so you don’t have to worry about dust escaping from this tiny machine. Though the vacuum itself is small, the hose is adequate in length and the stainless steel wand is just the right height so there’s no need to bend over and strain your back. It also comes with accessories that conveniently clip onto the hose so you can switch and swap them out as needed and you don’t have to worry about losing them as well. This budget-friendly vacuum will give you the full Miele experience at a fraction of the price.

Most notable upside: We love the retractable power cord feature on this but we were most impressed by how quiet this vacuum cleaner was while in use. We expected it to be a bit noisier like the other models we tested but this was surprisingly silent.

Biggest downsides: The combination floor head doesn’t pick up dirt and hair as quickly and as efficiently as the other models with roller brushes do.

A clogged hose is one of the most common problems vacuum owners have so make sure your vacuum’s hose is clean and free of any debris or blockage after cleaning your home. Emptying the dust bag regularly and changing it can help your vacuum perform at optimal level as well. Aside from that, knowing where the vacuum’s filters are and changing them, if possible, is also important.

Taking care of the parts and accessories of your vacuum can help make your vacuum run like new all the time, too. Remove hair from brush rollers and take out any blockages from the hose, the wand, and the attachments that you’ve used.

Lastly, storing your vacuum in the right way and the right place can make a huge difference. Make sure you store your vacuum in a cool, dry place to avoid moisture. Avoid stepping on the power cord while in use and having the power cord tangled when in storage as a damaged power cord can affect the power of your vacuum cleaner. Carry your vacuum by the body and never drag it by the power cord as well.

Q. Does it really make a difference if I use soap to wash my hands?
A. Absolutely! You get much better results by washing your hands with soap than you would get with just using water. If you don’t have access to soap, rinsing your hands with water is better than not doing anything. However, soap is much better to remove dirt and germs from your hands.

Q. Are hand sanitizers just as effective as handwashing with soap?
If you don’t have access to soap and water, you can use hand sanitizers in a pinch. But using soap and water to wash your hands is always best because the hand sanitizers don’t get rid of dirt.

Q. Is it better to use bar soap or liquid hand soap?
There is a lot of debate about what form of soap is better. As you might expect, studies have shown that bar soaps that were used often by many people contained more potentially harmful microbes.

Washing your hands with water and a bar of soap makes the fats in the soap break down and lather. Water does not remove all of the bacteria, and therefore some of the bacteria stays on the bar of soap when you are finished. Rinsing off the bar will only get rid of some of that bacteria. If the bar of soap is in your house, instead of a public place, less people will have used it.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends that liquid soap be used to reduce the risk of spreading germs. You should not refilling liquid hand soap containers, because that can spread germs. Your best bet is to throw away the liquid hand soap dispenser after using it.

The CDC does not think that a combination of bar and liquid soap provides any additional benefits to consumers.
