We took out guesswork using our years of expertise and sweeping through plenty of hopefuls to find the best options available.
To locate the perfect contender, we closely examined each electric broom in the following categories to ensure satisfaction.
Versatility – We tested each model on different types of flooring to see how they handled switching between locations, such as hardwoods, carpets, and more.
Weight and Maneuverability – Naturally, the lighter the model the better. We also looked at how well the sweeping end could glide across an area without getting stuck on itself.
Power – Next we examined how well the electric brooms we tested picked up varying sizes of debris and if they could clear away dander and dirt safely.
A hero is born! This cordless handheld is ideal for fast clean up, gliding across surfaces with unsurpassed grace. It can also take on upholstery and drapes with its lightweight, agile design.
Most notable upside: We were incredibly impressed with the power of the Tinco A10, as it worked better than the more expensive brands we tried. It is powerful, to begin with, but has an added Max feature to amp up the power even more. It quickly removed dirt and dog fur during our trials. You also don’t have to tire out your fingers holding down any buttons. We were amazed at how the A10’s nimble weight gave us access to hard to reach places, which is where dog fur often gathers.
Biggest downsides: There were a few downsides. The battery didn’t last as long as we would have liked. Also, the design sometimes causes the trap door to catch larger debris.
Six amps of pure power make this 7.5-pound lightweight design all the more appealing. The unique V shape allows for maximum maneuverability while an easy to empty cup makes clean up a breeze.
Most notable upside: The Edge was simple to snap together right out of the box. We also loved the flawless work ethic, as the Bissell even sucked up thick pet hair. The filter is one of the best of all the models we tested because it can be rinsed out to cut down on maintenance costs. The V design may look odd but it does help to extend your reach.
Biggest downsides: However, there were a few issues. It didn’t perform on the carpet as well as it did on harder surfaces. Also, if it does become clogged it’s difficult to clear out.
Meet the Blaze. One of the lightest in its class with built-in swivel steering for impeccable efficiency, it also comes equipped with the tools you need to reach every crevice hiding dog fur in your home.
Most notable upside: We found the Blaze to be a perfect choice for smaller homes or apartments. It has all the power of a sweeper double its size but only weighs in at 4 pounds, the lightest model we tested. The price tag is very reasonable and we liked that it had extra tools for reaching those tighter areas that hide grime.
Biggest downsides: We did find the cord was long enough. However, it does tend to slide off the handle, which is annoying. Also, the attachment tools aren’t quite up to par with the quality of the rest of the vacuum.
