Price Check

Most notable upside: We absolutely fell in love with the SKIL 3550. The guard made us almost forget we were testing a wet saw with virtually zero splashes. We had doubts about the plastic body but the SKIL held up to strains. The plastic body was also lightweight and easy to carry between sites.

Biggest downsides: The on/off switch was difficult to operate between cuts. Also, we weren’t impressed with the standard blade included, so we recommend replacing it. These were only slight annoyances that didn’t interfere with our productivity.

DEWALT

Don’t be reduced to working in a dusty environment; 13 feet of water line helps to eliminate tile dust on this high-performance saw. Complete with a built-in lock switch keeps you working longer.

Price Check

Most notable upside: The Dewalt DW is definitely star material. We liked the size of the cut and that there was little dust or water splatter when making a cut. We also liked how portable the Dewalt was which is perfect for job transport. A great option for just about everything, from tile to cement.

Biggest downsides: The few things we didn’t like were that the plastic water hookup isn’t the greatest and may break easily. Also, the blade is a bit of an odd size, so finding a replacement could be difficult. These were minor concerns overall.

Most notable upside: We found, the SKIL 7 inch Wet Saw is proof that good things come in smaller packages. Weighing in at just under 18 pounds, the SKIL 3540 is very portable. We thought this might take away from the stability but it stands strong as it works alongside you. The blade is also impressive and can even cut through marble.

Biggest downsides: We were disappointed that the water reservoir was a little small, especially if you are working on bigger tile jobs. The SKIL itself is also smaller than other models so it isn’t built for cutting large amounts of material.
