Most notable upside: We liked that the Lynk Professional was enough to use in bathrooms and laundry rooms, but we find them especially useful in the kitchen. We like how they are wide and deep enough to accommodate even large pots and pans without crowding. The low profile allows for easy stacking as well as being solidly-built out and able to slide smoothly due to the ProGlide ball bearing-based glide system.

Biggest downsides: We didn’t like that in some cases the drawers didn’t fully extend which was a little inconvenient. Also, the quality can be inconsistent.

Most notable upside: The Stackable 2 Tier we thought could accommodate a surprising number of items in a compact, space-saving design. We like how you can store pots and pans in the two bottom drawers and still be able to place a few more items on the top rack. They are priced pretty reasonably too so you could easily afford to buy as many units as you need and get even more storage space.

Biggest downsides: However, we did think the bottom drawers might be a bit too small for larger pots, but they should be fine for most uses.

Most notable upside: We found SimpleHouseware was surprisingly sturdy and well-made racks for the price. You get two racks for the price of one, so you could stack quite a few plates, trays, and cutting boards. They come with rubber feet that keep the rack securely planted, preventing marring and scratching the surface of your countertop.

Biggest downsides: Keep in mind that the receptacles aren't spaced widely enough to accommodate saucepans. However, the slots should be wide enough to fit most pot lids, fry and sauté pans, and even baking pans.

Tips for Effective Air Purifiers

It’s important to take good care of your air purifier to be sure it continues working properly and purifying the air within your home. One of the most crucial things to do is to keep the filter clean. With larger air filters, this typically means vacuuming the filter about once per week if you use the air filter every day. Most air purifiers will need to have their filter replaced about every 6 months. The placement of the air purifier in your home can also make a big difference. Remember to give it good clearance on all sides so the air can flow through the air purifier unobstructed. The purifier should not be placed up against a wall or any other surface where flow to or from the purifier will be blocked. Another important thing to remember is that when you are purifying the air within a space, you will typically want to keep doors and windows closed to keep outside contaminants from getting in. After all, you are trying to keep the air clean, and allowing pollen, dust and other materials back in defeats the purpose of using a purifier. While it’s not possible to keep doors and windows closed all the time, closing off a room as much as you can while using an air purifier can increase its effectiveness.

A Note About Safety and Storage

As with all electrical products, when you aren’t using your air purifier, it is important to keep it stored in a cool dry place. Before you use it again, it’s a good idea to check the filter and see if it is in good condition and whether it is needs to be replaced or vacuumed to be usable again. If you ever notice any strange smells coming from your air purifier, especially if it is an electrical smell, turn it off immediately.
